§ 2-556. Converted offenses.

  • (a)

    The first violations of the following sections of the Code shall hereinafter be considered municipal civil infractions and shall be subject to designated fines payable to the civil infraction bureau by persons admitting responsibility, and shall not be construed as, or subject to the general penalty provisions for misdemeanors as set forth in the Code, or the applicable code, respectively:

    Section 14-54 through section 14-73, littering $150.00
    Sections 16-1 through 16-5, fire safety $150.00
    Section 22-132, diving, fishing, and standing on bridges $ 50.00
    Section 22-209, loitering $150.00
    Section 22-218, alcoholic beverages; possession and/or consumption in public park, building or places $150.00
    Section 24-21 through 24-37, regulating public parks $100.00
    Sections 26-1 through 26-101, being the solid waste ordinance $100.00

    (b)

    Increased civil fines may be imposed for repeated violations by a person of any requirement or provision of this Code.
