§ 14-24. Warning by peace officer.

  • Any law enforcement officer or peace officer who becomes aware that a violation of this article is occurring may direct by suitable command that the volume setting be adjusted by the person in control of such boat, motor vehicle, moped, motorcycle, or bicycle which is transporting or conveying such sound device (or such pedestrian which is carrying such sound device) to reduce the volume to conform to that lower volume which is not prohibited by this article. A refusal to abate the nuisance in response to such command, if such occurs, shall be noted on any citation or summons issued. Conversely, such officer shall note compliance to such command as in mitigation on such citation or summons.
