§ 18-76. Petition to establish a flood district plan.

  • In the event that a majority of the property owners in a flood district identified in the flood district map attached to the ordinance from which this division is derived shall petition to city council for the establishment of a flood district plan, the following requirements shall be applicable to the property located within such flood district:

    (1)

    Property owners whose land abut or adjoin Lake Erie, its tributaries, or canals, or exterior of flood district, shall complete flood prevention measures in accordance with the standards of section 18-25 on or before the date set forth in the appendix to the ordinance from which this division is derived.

    (2)

    Such property owners shall thereafter maintain the flood protection measures in good repair and in accordance with the standards of section 18-25.

    (3)

    The requirements of this section shall not apply until a petition for a flood district plan is accepted by the city council.
