Latest version.
  • The peace and quiet of the city and its citizens is or may be threatened by the unthinking and inconsiderate use of high-decibel, unnecessary volume sounds emanating from transportable, electronically amplified or new technology sound systems which cause or aggravate noise pollution. The purpose of this article shall be to reduce and, if possible, eliminate noise pollution, and shall be liberally construed to accomplish that purpose, and shall be deemed to be a general expansion beyond that limitation or restriction established for advertising sound trucks in section 20-2(21). It is hereby determined that noise pollution created in violation of the further provisions of this article shall be abated as a nuisance.
