§ 6-525. Temporary pools.

  • (a)

    Required distance from certain neighboring points. The location and enclosure of any temporary pool shall be such that no hazard exists for pool users or the public. The minimum distance from the nearest part of the pool to the following points shall be as follows:

    (1)

    Six feet horizontally to any property line from the extremities of the pool.

    (2)

    Ten feet horizontally from a vertical line from any overhead electrical or telephone wire to the edge of the water.

    (3)

    It shall be left to the discretion of the property owner to maintain a safe distance between the pool and house or other buildings.

    (b)

    Ladders or steps required. Any temporary pool with maximum water depth of four feet or more shall have at least one acceptable ladder or set of steps permitting exit from the pool water.

    (c)

    Diving boards prohibited. Temporary pools shall not be equipped with diving boards.

    (d)

    Filter. Each temporary pool shall have a filter capable of maintaining clear water in the pool whenever the pool is in use.

    (e)

    Pumps. Each temporary pool shall have a pump with sufficient capacity to circulate the pool volume each 12 hours or less.

    (f)

    Belowground installation. No temporary pool shall be installed below grade unless structurally approved by the building department.
