The M-1 district is designed to accommodate light industrial uses which are compatible
with adjacent residential districts. Light industrial uses are intended to be free
from danger of fire, explosion, toxic and noxious matter, radiation, and similar hazards,
and offensive noise, vibration, smoke, odor and other similar objectionable influences.
It is further intended that the M-1 district be used as a transitional zoning district
to separate and buffer residential zoning districts from the heavier industrial use
districts.
