The planning commission shall consist of nine members, one of whom shall be a member
of the city council to be selected by resolution of the city council to serve as a
member ex officio, and eight of whom shall be appointed by the mayor subject to the
approval of the city council. The ex officio member shall have full voting rights.
All members of the commission shall serve without compensation. An appointed member,
except for the ex officio member, shall not hold other municipal office, except that
one of the members may be a member of the zoning board of appeals. No member shall
be an employee of the city.
