§ 22-167. Confiscation of firearms.

  • (a)

    In addition to any penalty provided in this article for violations of the provisions hereof, all weapons, guns, firearms, knives, dirks, razors, stilettos, or any other sharp-edged or pointed instruments, or weapons carried, possessed or used contrary to this article are hereby declared forfeited to the city.

    (b)

    A pistol carried in violation of this article is subject to seizure and forfeiture in the same manner that property is subject to seizure and forfeiture under chapter 47 of the Revised Judicature Act of 1961 (MCL 600.4701 et seq.). This subsection does not apply if the violation falls under section 22-169 unless the individual fails to present his license within the 45-day period described in that section.
